[Who]
Paul Coogan is California native who believes the Golden State can flourish if communities fight to receive the services and infrastructure their elected government should deliver.
[Why]
In 2023 Mr. Coogan saw that there was an intersection of a need in the community for a new library, some open land where it could be located, municipal funds, and the promise a new library in the San Diego 2023 Library Master Plan.
Since then, he has sought a location for the library and a means of getting it built. He began talking with Friends of Kensington/Normal Heights Library, Councilmember Elo-Rivera’s office, the San Diego Library Commission, librarians at several branch locations, the owner of the property at 35th and Adams, and community members trying to make this opportunity a reality for the greater Adams Avenue community.
